Potential Interview Questions


Take some time to review these interview questions. The more prepared you are, the more professional and committed you’ll appear. Prepare a fifteen to twenty second answer to each of these  questions. Be prepared to elaborate, but start off by keeping your responses as concise as possible. You don’t have as much time as you would in a regular interview.

Questions About Your Teaching Philosophy

·  What is your philosophy of education?

·  What do you think teachers should be able to accomplish in the classroom?

·  What kind of a relationship would you like to establish with your students?

·  Discuss your philosophy of discipline.

·  How do you think students should be evaluated/graded?

·  Can you explain individualization and how a teacher can facilitate this process?

·  What do you see as the problems facing elementary and secondary education? What do you think you can do about it?

Questions About Your Student Teaching Experience

·  What was your greatest strength as a student teacher?

·  What was your most rewarding experience? Why?

·  If you could go back and do anything different, what would it be?

·  Discuss your strong and weak points as explained by your critic teacher.

· When and why did you decide to become a teacher?

·  What have you done that demonstrates your creativity as a teacher?
